We (Pastors John and Ramona) are so excited about this new church plant. In some ways it isn't really new at all. We have studied the Book of Acts searching out the ingredients of the church that turned the world upside down. We see that those believers were filled with a passionate love for Jesus Christ. They had seen Him alive, die and live again. They knew that He was Lord and told their world about Him. But those believers were also deeply devoted to one another. They learned how to be a community of faith together. Their love for the Lord and for one another through the power of the Holy Spirit was their greatest testimony. We believe these core elements of the first century church must be the same for the church today. Since January 2012 Radiant Church has been growing in these core elements and putting them into practice. It is exciting to see what the Lord is building!
Psalm 34:5 -"They looked to Him and were radiant", captures in one verse a core message the Father is saying to all people in this day. We feel a strong urgency to compel us all to look to Jesus now more than ever. Our world is going through a real shaking and we believe the Lord Jesus is the only solid ground. We are to walk very closely with Him and yet we can not do that alone. We need a community of faith around us. We live out our Christian life in the context of community, family and marriage. These are the focal points for testing the quality of our walk with Him. As we look to Him we will be changed and shine as radiant lights in this world.
We have seen our greatest anointing in the area of mentoring/discipling or in other words- being a spiritual father and mother. This passage, Colossians 1:27-29, captures our passion for ministry:
"To whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me."
